It’s been a long-time desire of mine to visit the Angkor Wat temple in Cambodia. So yesterday I took off at about 4:45am from my hotel to catch my first glimpse of it. What I wasn’t expecting is just how many other people were up early with cameras to photograph the iconic temple. Just a little perspective….

The crew from Brooklake Church have been recording at Grit City Studios in Tacoma over the past few weeks. I had the privilege of joining them a couple of times this week to photograph the work they’re doing. I figured making an album was fairly complex, but I had no idea what goes into recording just one instrument, or one vocal for a single song. Super talented bunch. Respect.

dussehra festival

My last night in India was also the final day of the yearly 10-day Dussehra festival. We were in Agra and ventured out even though it was ‘not advisable’ to do so. When we arrived, we joined about 200,000 people who where gathered for the celebration! Within a few minutes, we somehow got on the main stage where a drama was in full swing. After the performance, the festival shifted to an onslaught of fireworks and ended with a giant paper-mache effigy burning to the ground. The celebration is a story of good triumphing over evil and it was nothing short of an amazing experience.
