on the road in ethiopia

Much of our time was spent driving to different towns to visit orphanages and other ministries that work with kids. Along the way, we would stop occasionally so I could make photos of the people and landscape of Ethiopia. Below are images from the town of Gimbi and the long stretch of road that connects it to the capital city of Addis Ababa.

nekemte, ethiopia

I got back to Seattle yesterday, after about 30 hours in transit from Entebbe, Uganda…which means I was asleep real early last night. I’m doing good and happy to be back with my family! Below are some images from the town of Nekemte, Ethiopia which is about a ten hour drive from the capital city of Addis Ababa. We headed out there the morning after we first arrived in Africa, and were received with lots of stares and smiles. The people are so gracious and full of dignity and it was a dream fulfilled to set foot on African soil. I’ll be posting more images this week, so have a look if you can.

color vs. black & white

I was out scouting portrait locations with my beautiful wife this past weekend and have a question to pose. What is the best way to determine if a photo should be shown in color or black and white? I’ve got some thoughts on this but would love to know what you think.
